For the past few classes, we were assigned to research music marketing essentials and turn our research into a well created music video and campaign. In groups of 4, we assigned the genre of Bluegrass. Firstly, we set up all the information we would need on the genre, and on the song we had chosen. After that, we started out planning how we would best market this song so we could create a brand that would fit well with the artist and the target audience for the genre.
After analyzing how the artist would be portrayed by all audiences, we decided the artist should have an online presence on twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Then, we decided that all albums and songs would be distributed on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, and Soundcloud, while still being sold as CD's, Vinyl's and cassettes.
At that time, we were ready to start our storyboard of the music video. After discussing our options, our group decided to do a promotional and storytelling music video. We selected the lyrics we wanted to have the artist singing and the lyrics that would be for the story told. We then planned out how the story would go and how it would line up with the song and the artist. The location of the shooting was chosen and filmed on today. Next, we will be combining all videos together and editing them for our presentation next week.
